Launch of the East Africa Trade and Transport Facilitation Program

The program was launched by Dr Kipyego Cheluget, Deputy Secretary General (Projects and Programs) of the East African Community. The participants commended the Hub role in laying the foundation stone for this project by designing and initiating activities that are seen as its future pillars particularly the Malaba one-stop border post.

The program will be funded, for national components, by the World Bank to the tune of US$199 million in credits and grants and two partial risk guarantees of US$60 million. The African Development Bank will provide US$10 million funding to cover the regional component.
